Key West Wedding Weekend

Thanksgiving weekend seems to be a big one for my friends' weddings. A few years ago, Nellie got married in Charleston, SC over Turkey Day weekend and now this year Talon married Shannon in Key West, FL. It really is a good weekend for it, everyone has at least some time off and although traveling may not be the greatest idea, it only adds to the excitement of it all.

So for Talon's wedding, we drove down to Key West the Friday after Thanksgiving. The 8 hour drive didn't seem too bad in the begining. We had our road trip tunes and our fun road side attractions. It was a good extenstion of our cross country adventures. However, the last stretch across the keys, took FOREVER. Just when you think you've finally made it, there is 2 more hours of one lane highway in front of you. But alas, we made it!
The first night of our visit was a tribute to Spring Breaks Past as we made our way down Duval Street. We visited The Bull for a few drinks and then moved on to Irish Kevin's, where we watched the hired singer chug 4 Car Bombs in a row and then proceed to vomit on stage. We promptly left and went to Rick's for some classic Kareoke as Talon sarenaded us with some classic Baby Got Back. Then we left there to journey over to Sloppy Joe's. It was an awesome night!
Saturday morning we had breakfast at SaraBeth's and started our 4 mile walking tour of Key West.
We went to the Southernmost Point of the Continental U.S. On to ErnestHemingway's House, and back to the hotel to get ready for the wedding in Fort Zachary Taylor State Park. And the reception at Old Town Manor. It was a beautiful and FUN wedding. Congratulations Talon and Shannon!
