Museum Sunday was replaced by Zoo Saturday this week...

 The weather this morning started out CRAPPY!  It was rainy and windy and cold. But we had made a plan and were going to stick with it.  So we put on our raincoats and set out for the zoo.
 

The National Zoo is run by the Smithsonian and so it is yet another FREE thing to do in DC!  There are often many events and activities going on at the zoo, but even just a regular Saturday is a great time to go. They are currently making many changes and renovations, including a GIANT new elephant exhibit and they are getting a carousel.

 By the time we stopped for lunch and got to the zoo the rain had stopped and the sun came out.

It turned out to be a beautiful zoo day!
