We got Crabs!

Last weekend my friend Jackie posted pictures of her crab-adventures and so I added it to my list of things I want to do.
Erin and I headed over to Maine Ave yesterday to check it out. It was an awesome place, like a Flea Market for fish. Bins upon bins of seafood, most of them STILL ALIVE. You could buy bags of still moving crabs and carry them home. Makes me think twice about people's shopping bags on the metro now!
They also had a "cooking line" where you can take the live crabs and steam them right there. I am a little more onboard with that, at least that way there is no risk of them escaping in the backseat.
We had to take a few minutes to scout it all out before we could figure it out. One thing I found to be very surprising, there were signs all around advertising that they accept Food Stamps. I'm not sure why this surprised me, but it did. Erin pointed out that at least its semi-healthy fresh food. We decided on getting a few oysters, some shrimp and then 1/2 lb of crabs. All that for $15.00!!

It was a lot of work, very messy but totally TASTY!

Sorry Sebastian!
