Monterey Bay Aquarium

After the wedding, we traveled south to Monterey. I had been there before when Nellie and John lived in Monterey a few years ago. When visiting Monterey Bay... you must go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
It was one of the coolest places EVER!  I have been to quite a few aquariums and the Florida Aquarium was once my most favorite of all. However, now it has been replaced.

With more than 1.8 million visitors a year the Monterey Aquarium pumps 2,000 gallons per minute, day and night, through more than 100 exhibit tanks.
We were told the fish swimming in this tank NEVER swim in the school like this...it was very cool and VERY Nemo!

The two-story exhibit of the Kelp forest was AWESOME!! The aquarium's Kelp Forest exhibit was the first of its kind. No other aquarium had live kelp until Monterey did it.

We went to the penguin feeding show. It was fun. Tas was fascinated when we learned the fact that penguins are Projectile Poopers!

The Jellies Experience Exhibit was one of our favorites. As you walk through the Jimi Hendrix inspired hall the tunes inspired the little ones to bust a move. Jellyfish dancing was excellent fun!

After the aquarium, we went to Fisherman's Wharf and took a "Glass Bottom" Boat ride in the harbor. We saw a lot of sea lions and birds, it was very beautiful and frightening.
