We quickly deemed it the "Cherry Bud Festival."Apparently with the weather being so cold still, the blossoms have no blossomed yet.
We found some pretty cool blooming Dogwood trees and we saw all the sights. I took Katie to eat at Good Stuff Eatery and then we went for Boozy MilkShakes at Ted's Bulletin. We wondered around town and had a great time.
Saturday was the Kite Festival. We went to Target and bought some fun kites. We went down to the Mall and flew kites. I never really knew how hard it is to fly a kite... especially while trying not to run into the 1,000's of other people. It was a beautiful day though and i even got to bust out my shorts... maybe a tad early for that :)
On Sunday, we did one thing I have yet to do while living in DC....we went to Georgetown Cupcakes. That place is always PACKED and with the hype of The Food Network.. combined with the Cherry Blossom Festival.. it was even more packed! We waited in line... in the rain for 45 minutes. But, once we were inside...it was awesome.
The theme for the weekend was "Shhh... don't tell my trainer!"
