HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Today's "Museum Sunday" was the Chinese New Year Parade!
I watched a film with my students the other day about the parade and all of the symbolism that goes with it. The Lion Dancers and drums that begin the parade are to scare away the bad luck of the previous year. The Dragon Dancers chase the "Pearl of Wisdom" and at the end of the parade they catch the "pearl" signifying good things to come.
This little kid was just too cute not to photograph.
